• Looking Ahead

I organized and played in a tournament this past Saturday. Went 3-0 to win. I’ll add a report later when I get around to uploading all the pictures from my camera to my computer. You can read this to tide you over until then.

I added a “What’s DBA” page. I’ll soon add one for HotT as soon as I get everything based (using my Axis & Allies Miniatures). Here is a list of things I’ll be working on after I finish up Andy Swingle’s figs in the next 2-3 weeks:

The Short & Long Term Painting To-Do List

    • Seljuk Turks (Museum), for IHOG Crusades campaign.
    • Komnenen Byzantine (Museum) possible BBDBA at Fall In or Cold Wars.
    • Early Crusader (Feudal Castings) possible BBDBA at Fall In or Cold Wars.
    • Koryo Korean (Mike’s Models) possible open tourney army.
    • 4 Aux elements & 1 Cheiroballista for my EIR morph (Corvus Belli & Essex).
    • Sung Chinese (Mike’s Models) possible open tourney army.
    • Early T’ang (Old “strip” Minifigs) to battle Paul Hannah at Fall In.
    • 2xMarian Roman (AB Miniatures), for Cold Wars scenario: “Caesar in Alexandria”.
    • 4x Ptolemaic (Old “strip” MiniFigs & Mike’s Models), for Cold Wars scenario: “Caesar in Alexandria”.
    • Mithridatic (Pass O’ the North), for Cold Wars scenario: “Caesar in Alexandria”.
    • Kyrenean Greek (Pass O’ the North), just because I like the figs. ๐Ÿ™‚
    • Later Swiss (Hopefully Mike’s Models), for fun.
    • Burgundian Ordonnance (Hopefully Mike’s Models), for fun.
    • 25mm HotT army (Games Workshop), for the East Coast cons.
    • Biblicals-(wayyy on the back burner).

At some point I’ll have to add a big bad dismounting knight army…

  • First BUA

In between slapping paint on medievals I managed to work on a BUA for my Crusaders and eventually Byzantines. Not really impressive yet, it does, however, look cooler from above.

Made from simple wood blocks, it features walls, a gate, and cruciform basilica. Mosque-bait for my Turks…

It’s also an experiment for making city terrain for my Caesar In Alexandria scenario.

Early Crusadersย  were finished for Historicon (thanks Andy ๐Ÿ™‚ ) and have been added to the Gallery page.ย  Look for a wad of finished Medieval foot on Friday on the Commissions page.

  • Historicon Addendum

I forgot to mention my purchases!

Museum Miniatures were on sale for 10 cents per foot, and 20 cents per mounted, so I got Seljuk Turk and Komemnan Byzantine armies for $12.00 total-all options! Turks will be painted first, after finishing Andy Swingle’s medievals.

I picked up 2 packs of Corvus Belli Early Imperial Roman auxiliaries, and a pack of Essex Ballistae to morph my Marians into Early Imperial.

I grabbed 2 Buaeda camps for my Turks and Byzantines.

I got a pack of Little Big Man transfers for hoplite shields.

About 40 or so assorted Litko bases (magnetic).

I also purchased the rules for HOTT!

Last, following Paul Hannah’s advice, I purchased several packs of really nice 3D hills to use as terrain.

*I also updated my win/loss record to reflect the events of Historicon. If anyone can fill in the gaps, or has records of my elements lost and the inclination to tell me, please let me know because I’m a bit fuzzy.
